Bruce Bishop offers parliamentary procedure workshops in the San Diego area that anyone can attend. These workshops are designed to introduce participants to the basic rules and issues of parliamentary law and procedure. All workshops are held at:

These 2-3 hour sessions are perfect for anyone interested in parliamentary procedure – especially people who are members of a board or those who regularly attend meetings:

  • Home owner associations
  • PTA (Parent Teacher Associations)
  • Foundation groups
  • Church groups
  • Community service organizations (Rotary, Lions, Optimists Clubs)
  • School boards

These informative seminars are highly interactive with plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Topics and issues discussed include:

  • Robert’s Rules of Order and other parliamentary authorities
  • The authority of the Chair
  • The authority of members
  • Guests and non-voting individuals in attendance
  • Voting
  • Making motions
  • How to amend a motion
  • Quorum
  • Reconsideration, rescinding, postponing, and tabling motions
  • Bylaw interpretation and other governing documents

Cost of each seminar is $79 per person when paid in advance. Cost at the door (when space is available) is $99. There are a minimum number of participants required for each workshop. Payments will be refunded or credited to a future date if that minimum is not met.
